2020 was the worst year for the hospitality industry due to Covid 19 pandemic. While this is true , Mariott Hotels has been continually optimistic about the company's future.
In the second quarter of 2021 Mariottt Hotels reported an income of 422 million dollars , compared to  net loss of 234 million earlier year.
 
After the pandemic most experts claim that there will be hike of travel and leisure demand some calling it "Revenge Travel" and this is a reason for hoteliers to experience demands of pre-covid levels.

After suffering it's biggest loss which is the death of former longterm  CEO Arne Sorensen the third chief executive of the company's history , Tony Capuano 25 year old company veteran ascended the postion.

Mariott hotels is one of the largest hotel operators with 7800 properties in 138 countries and territories.

In it's efforts to generate profits in May 2020 with Co-branded credit cards Chase and Amex providing with an infusion of $920 million. The key driver of Mariott hotels is the addition of new hotels to it's portfolio which cause a natural growth in profits for the company.

With the increase of buissness travels and the combination of buissness and tourism is the most of profitable capitalization in the hotel market.Also the companies new competition to rivals such as AirBnb with home rental services and villas which complemented the portfolio of the the hotelier.

The hotel industry is expected to obtain a full recovery by the yrar 2024 which means that hotel industry will thrive under new generations of customers and tourists.

Ceylon Cinnamon - why is it so expensive? Ceylon Cinnamon is native for just one region in the world which Sri Lanka and comes from the tree Cinammom  verum. One pound of cinnamon can cost about $27 and the price  can go upto $100 depending on size, variety and thickness.  Ceylon Cinnamon is one of the healthiest more milder option to cinnamon in western markets called "Cassia" cinnamon. Unlike other cinnamon varities ceylon cinnamon is not widely produced dues to the shortage of workers to remove quills.  In US markets , Ceylon Cinnamon is not specifically labelled , therefore most markets contain cinnamon of "Cassia" variety which has relatively high levels of toxin coumarin.
